Policy and Procedure

KINDERMUSIK REGISTRATION

Enrolment is taken on a first come, first served basis. Registration confirmation will be send via email; a valid and active email address is required.

TUITION

Our yearly calendar offer 34 weekly lessons. Tuition is calculated for the whole year and divided into 10 equal monthly payments (whether the month has 3, 4, or 5 lessons).  If we close the center (due to holiday) you are not charged for that lesson. If you join mid-year the tuition will be pro-rated for the remaining lessons.  You have the option of paying for the year in full, semester, or payment plans with Visa / MasterCard or Post-dated cheques.  The NSF is $25 for any returned cheque or electronic funds.

TRIAL

A trial class is available as space permitting.  Contact us to book your trial class.

Should any enrollment not reach 6 students, 88 Keys reserves the right to cancel any class and issue a full refund. Late registrations are accepted pending on space availability. Those who register late may require to pay additional shipping fee for Home Resources. Allow 5-10 business days before receiving it.

REGISTRATION FEE

A non-refundable registration fee of $25 is payable annually per student. If you register in June/July your registration counts for the next fall as well.

REGISTRATION CHANGES (TRANSFER)

All transfer will be subject to a $15 transfer fee. There will be no transfer allowed one (1) week prior to commencement of class.

NON-ENROLLED SIBLINGS

Due to limited class sizes and unique class settings, Village and Our Time classes are unable to accommodate non-enrolled siblings.  Village and Our Time is designed as one (1) parent per student experience to give full attention to the child and fully participate in all musical activities.

For Imagine That and Young Child classes: siblings are welcome for the last ten minutes of “sharing time”.

DEVELOPMENTAL AGE OF PARTICIPANT

Students must be registered in age and/or developmentally appropriate class at the commencement of the session. 88 Keys reserves the right to transfer a child if they are not appropriate for the curriculum.

GUEST AND VISITORS

Due to our limited studio space, 88 Keys does not allow guests or visitors to attend classes.

SPECIAL NEEDS

We are able to accommodate special needs students wherever possible. A limit of 1 (one) special needs student per class allowed. If your child has any special needs, please notify us prior to enrollment.

ATTENDANCE

Children are expected to attend all scheduled classes.  88 Keys wants to ensure its small class size and low student/teacher ratio.  Classroom dynamics are established early on in the semester.

If your child misses a class for whatever reason, there will be:

  1. No refund of the fees paid, and
  2. No credit given for future classes or resources costs

88 Keys reserves the right to reschedule in the event of instructor illness, severe weather, or other foreseen circumstances.  Students will be notified in such cases.

MAKE-UP

Students are entitled to 1 (one) make-up class per semester, which is available following the completion of semester.  There will be no make-up provided during the semester.

WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS

No refunds after the first day of class.

Your child has a spot reserved just for him/her in entire semester.

Withdrawal of enrolment must be in writing.

  1. If the student is withdrawn two (2) weeks prior to class commencement, the fee less a $25 administration fee will be refunded;
  2. Allow up to 15 business days to receive a refund.

If you wish to withdrawn and hold the remaining lessons in credit on your file, you will not be charged an administration fee. In the case of withdrawal, the promotional gift fee will be included in the refund.

Your child may return to school when he/she has not vomited or had diarrhea for 24 hours.

In all circumstances of absence for medical reasons, seek the advice of your child’s doctor to determine an appropriate time for your child to return to school.

Communicable Disease

If your child contracts a communicable disease (chicken pox, measles, head lice, etc.), you must keep your child at home and immediately report this to the Main Office at 88 Keys.
This will enable staff to watch for symptoms in other children and to inform parents.

NO peanut and nut products are allowed at 88 Keys!

Peanut / nut products can be fatal for anaphylactic children.  The residue of peanut oil can cause a life-threatening reaction to a child with this allergy.
